Indulge in Japanese Culture: Special Booths at Japan Expo Thailand 2024

Japan Expo Thailand is one of the largest exhibitions of Japanese products and culture in Asia, featuring everything Japanese, including music, anime, manga, fashion, food, and traditional culture. 

This event serves as a testament to the rich cultural relationship between Thailand and Japan and has become a significant platform for cultural exchange between the two countries.

One of the highlights of Japan Expo Thailand is its diverse range of activities and performances throughout the event. Moreover, visitors can enjoy live music performances by Japanese artists, participate in cosplay competitions, join workshops on Japanese culture, and sample various Japanese foods and beverages. Additionally, the event features exhibitions showcasing the latest trends in fashion, anime, and manga from Japan. Japan Expo Thailand provides a special opportunity for visitors to immerse themselves in Japanese culture and connect with like-minded individuals who share a passion for all things Japanese.



As part of Smile Exhibit's involvement in the event, we had the opportunity to design a booth that encapsulates the essence of Japan to the fullest. For example, we chose to focus on Saka, a prefecture in Japan known for its beautiful scenery and tourist attractions. Our client wanted to incorporate the activity of "Otedama," a traditional Japanese game where players toss bean-bags onto rocks in a pond inhabited by swimming carp. Successfully landing a beanbag earns players an Omikuji, a fortune slip from the Yoitsugu Inari Shrine, as a reward. I spent time researching both the location and the activity to create a booth that resembled the real-life experience in Japan.


I designed the booth and constructed its structure to resemble the Torii gate and a Japanese-style gatehouse, creating an ambiance reminiscent of being in Japan. Inside the booth, we organized activities using backdrops digitally printed with vibrant red hues using a six-color CMYK ink system, both before and after booth installation.

Furthermore, we decorated the interior of the booth to evoke a Japanese atmosphere, incorporating elements such as wind chimes, wall art, and cat masks.

In addition to selecting high-quality materials for production, Smile Exhibit meticulously ensured that each piece met our client's expectations. We provided samples for the client's inspection and allowed them to touch the surface of the materials before booth installation, ensuring their satisfaction.

In conclusion, each booth creation goes beyond surface aesthetics and timely completion; it involves understanding detailed requirements from the client. The production process includes receiving briefs, planning, designing, manufacturing, installation, dismantling, and ultimately delivering the finished product to the client.
